Supports for children, youth, and families:
- when a mental health crisis is identified and requires immediate support
- when risk taking behaviour is identified and immediate support is required to safety plan (self-harm, suicide, aggression)
- who need assistance with school issues or refusal to attend, addictions concerns, conflict, emotional dysregulation
- when service navigation and linkage is needed
- when immediate situational support is required
- whenever a child or youth requires support or you're unsure how to help
- follow up within one hour of initial referral or next day in cases of afterhours referrals
- conduct risk assessment and formulate safety plans during initial phone contact
- support determination of continued level of risk for the child or youth, assist with coping plans and connection to appropriate resources
- provide up to 6 sessions of brief therapy (based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as deemed appropriate by the Crisis Worker
- provide parents with positive parenting support (Triple P)
- provide information about children's mental health services, service navigation and linkages as required

Mobile Crisis Team meets with individuals in the community to provide comprehensive crisis intervention, support, risk and suicide assessment, service navigation, coping strategies and tools, safety planning and referrals to other CMHA programs or other community resources
For immediate mental health assistance call:
- Mobile Services are held in the community within the city of Barrie at agreed upon locations and times
- Mobile support may be deemed appropriate as assessed by the Crisis Worker or at the request of the caller
- a telephone assessment is completed with the individual prior to arranging of the Mobile Support
- any bed admissions to CARAH require assessment by a Crisis Worker in the community, to determine eligibility
- Crisis Workers regularly work collaboratively with local and surrounding Police Services, to support crisis situations in the community
- police are able to access CARAH beds and crisis support directly, for more immediate cases, 24 hours a day
- in some circumstances mobile assessment may require a Crisis staff to recommend and advocate for hospital admission, based on assessed level of risk of harm to self or others, or physical health concerns that may or may not be related to substance use

Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aids for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses. Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility. No direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above. Financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims.

Provides immediate crisis response services and counselling to children, youth and their families who are feeling suicidal, hopeless, unable to deal with things, frightened, alone, overwhelmed and out of control. Services include:
Calls made to office after hours, weekends and on holidays will be answered by 24hr answering service.
- Talk-In Clinic - walk in counselling for immediate problem solving, therapeutic conversations, information and support Talk-in Clinic: Wed 1 pm-7 pm
- crisis intervention and support
- individual and family counselling
- education and support groups
- sexual abuse treatment
- links to other DCAFS services and referrals to community services
- after hours, in-home and office appointments can be arranged
