Regular Service
Individual and family counselling for children up to 18 years of age who are experiencing emotional, social, behavioural difficulties

• range of services offered to families includes prevention through education in child development and management, family counselling, group and individual therapy, and parenting groups
• assists family to examine the inter-relationships of family members to learn more about the difficulties being experienced by themselves and their child, and to learn ways to overcome these difficulties
• services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from the fields of social work, child and youth work, psychiatry, psychology, nursing and education
  

A counselling and mediation centre with a network of professionals. Provide a wide range of services for families and individuals:

• anger Management
• family, couples, and individual counselling
• substance abuse counselling

• groups and workshops

Designed to help people with mental illnesses/mental disorders who come into conflict with the law, project includes:

• Mental Health Court Support Services in Criminal Courts in Barrie, Midland, Collingwood, Orillia and Penetanguishene
• Court Diversion for individuals charged with minor criminal offenses and Release from Custody services for inmates being discharged from Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene
• Release from Custody also assists people 16 years and older who reside in the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN who may be at risk of involvement/re-involvement in the criminal justice system

Provides general counselling to adults struggling with emotional issues, addiction, trauma, abuse, relationship and martial problems, anxiety, depression, lose, life changes and more. Also trained in yoga and meditation

Registered Psychotherapist of the Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Professional Counsellor, member in good standing of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA - Full Member)

Free seven-week mental wellness program delivered online

• uses Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and minfulness techniques to help people ages 13-30 to cope with feelings of stress and anxiety
• gives young people the chance to connect with others who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings
• group is led by trained mental health professionals in a safe supportive environment
• joint program through a partnership with Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Housing Support services include:

• Gloria House, a supportive, cooperative living environment for five individuals with mental health difficulties
• a Transitional House for three individuals experiencing mental health issues with a maximum stay of six months
• supportive Case Management program and access to a rent supplement program based on the Housing First model

Service to assist individuals who are looking for information and/or support regarding mental health and addictions

• offices distribute harm reduction supplies
• staff will be available to discuss individual needs, provide connection to CMHA services, assist with information and referrals to other community services, and answer questions related to mental health and addictions

Provides services to youth and adults, with substance abuse issues, and to concerned family members or friends, affected by the problem of alcohol, drug use or gambling

• services include counselling, case management and follow-up after assessment
• assessment process lasts approximately three to four sessions, and follow-up and support will go on as long as necessary
• acts as an information centre regarding addictions
• Designated by Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as the agency for gambling outpatient treatment

Twelve-Step program where individuals share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problems and help others to recover from their eating disorders

Counseling services

Case management

• for individuals 16 - 24 who live in Barrie and are experiencing serious mental illness and need assistance with things such as finding and maintaining housing, daily living skills, exploration of income supports, and making connections with community resources

Programs and workshops

• for youth between the ages of 12 to 24
• topics may include Self-Esteem & Healthy Relationships, Ending Self Harm, Peer Support

Walk-in service/in-take service

• on Mondays from 1 pm-4 pm to help individuals who are looking for information and/or support regarding mental health and addictions
• staff will be available to discuss individual needs, provide connection to CMHA services, assist with information and referrals to other community services, and answer questions related to mental health and addictions

Parent and Caregiver Support

• on fourth Monday of every month from 6 pm-7:30 pm
• drop in group for parents or caregivers of youth experiencing mental health issues
• talk with others about their experiences and get information and support

Crisis Response Network Coordination provides support to youth or adults age eighteen or older, with a dual diagnosis of developmental disability and mental health needs or challenging behaviour, experiencing a crisis

• Dual Diagnosis is defined as a co-existing developmental disability and mental health needs and/or challenging behaviours
• Youth age sixteen and older, with a dual diagnosis, who are involved with the justice system may be eligible to receive up to four months of case management support to assist them within the legal services

• sessions include: self-assessment questionnaire to assist the Counsellor and client in the development of the focus of the session; 1 hour counselling session that can include an individual or families; written summary of the focus of the session and the plan that families take with them
