There are dozens of partners behind the service who play an important role in the success of the 211 system. They help us deliver greater impact by staying current about community changes, by sharing the database of information for initiatives and research and building awareness of 211 locally.
Connecting Ottawa improves access to justice for vulnerable populations through a collaboration between community legal services, social services and 211.
Works to meet the acute, immediate and long-term resource and support needs of persons affected by human trafficking, as well as training 211 Community Navigators in Ottawa to recognize the signs of human trafficking.
The Graffiti Guard initiative encourages everyone to prevent, report and remove graffiti in Thunder Bay by calling 211 or reporting by using the designated online form.
An anti-Racism pilot project, in partnership with the City of Thunder Bay, that provides a safe place to report incidents of racism and to access appropriate referrals by calling 211 and/or by completing an online form.

A 24/7 mental health crisis line for children and youth is provided through a single toll-free line 1-844-287-9072 through the 211 Ontario Network. 211s Community Navigators answer the line, conduct an assessment and follow custom protocols to connect callers to the nearest available assistance.
The “Common Point” offers 24/7 bilingual information and referrals to mental health and addictions services for children, youth, adults and their families, by phone (through 211) and a bilingual online directory with custom categories and a calendar of walk-in clinics.
211 adopted a mental health service pathways protocol to guide their Community Navigators and improve outcomes for callers seeking mental health services for children and youth in Simcoe County.
For callers who do not go into a withdrawal management service, 211 provides referrals for additional resources such as day treatment programs, residential programs and/or redirect caller to the appropriate local community service for those struggling with substance abuse issues.
211 Central East receives electronic referrals from clinicians in five Family Health Teams and a Community Health Centre for patients impacted by the social determinants of health. 211’s Community Navigators contact patients, connect them to additional services and conduct follow up to ensure services are in place. A successful closed-loop reporting process ensures clinicians receive outcome reports on 211’s intervention.
211’s Central East receives electronic referrals from Community Paramedics responding to 911 calls where patients are impacted by the social determinants of health. 211’s Community Navigators contact patients, connect them to additional services and conduct follow up to ensure services are in place. 211 provides reports on the outcomes of their interventions to the Paramedic Coordinator.
Be Well is an online resource and information hub for healthy living. 211 is promoted as the access point for residents to call when they don’t know where to turn.
211 Central East has partnered with Peterborough County and Paramedics to educate their community on resources for non-emergency health related supports in the community to reduce non-emergency calls to 911.
Planning a ‘peer support’ pilot project to recruit individuals with lived experience to work in local emergency departments and support people experiencing homelessness.

211 Central East is working with the County of Simcoe to enhance the County’s GIS interactive map to include all community services in English and French with custom categories. The resources are continually updated through an API.
211 North in partnership with Nishnawbe Aski Nation created a Directory of Human Services to assist community members, band office administrators, health care practitioners, social workers and others in finding the services they require, by clearly identifying the agencies and organizations serving each of their 49 Northern Ontario communities.
