Over 35 presentations have been made to hundreds of municipal, provincial and regional social service, emergency sector and conference audiences. Customized slide presentations were based on the deck of slides that we iteratively developed and continuously refined. Although the focus has been on what can be offered consistently by all 211 services across the province, there are significant regional differences in population and geographic size, as well as municipal resources. Another differentiating factor is the existence of 311, which is the number for access to city services in some communities. Typically 311 directs complex social service inquiries to 211, enabling 311 to focus on key municipal service questions. The role of 211 with 311 may differ with each community based on 311 resources, but it will always be complementary.
